This summer, I am the Student Principal Investigator for the caveMathematica Group. We will be debugging and liberating the program caveMathematica.exe so that it will work in multiple environments and, more specifically, in the Phleet environments in the CAVE/CUBE. After that we will continue demo development and possibly use the mathlink connection inherent in its operation to more fully utiliize CUDA enabled GPU's. Follow the link to the left for more information.
Also on this web page is my previous project called SZGTevatron. It was an effort to visualize Higgs and W boson generation aftermath in the Tevatron at Fermilab. It works great in the aszgard environment in standalone. Feel free to download the SZGTevatron source or go to its home page. In the full report are detailed instructions on how to run it. You will need to download the aszgard package and install.
I am a sophomore in physics at the University of Illinois. I took Professor George Francis' Math 198 class entitled Hypergraphics in the spring of '08. This got me interested computer visualization and caused me to sign up for the REU this summer. In addition to working on caveMathematica, I am also involved in the baREUcuda project, which is an effort to port some SZG computations to the CUDA-enabled nVidia GPUs, and creating/maintaining Phleets in the REUlab with my collaborator Will Davis. The link to Simulating the Virtual Environments contains Will's excellent documentation of our efforts.
